Sabah FK is experiencing the most successful season in its history since the club was founded. During the current campaign, the team secured both major domestic trophies available at senior level.
Sabah clinched their first-ever Misli Premier League title with four rounds still remaining in the season. In addition to their league triumph, the club also lifted the Azerbaijan Cup, completing a remarkable domestic double.
Managed by Valdas Dambrauskas, the team faced Zira FK in the cup final. Although Sabah fell behind during the match, they produced an impressive comeback in the second half. Brilliant goals from Patrick Orphe Mbina and Joy-Lance Mickels turned the game around and secured a 2-1 victory for the “Owls.”
It is worth noting that Sabah had already won the national cup last season. Following this year’s achievements, the club’s trophy collection has now grown to three major titles: one league championship and two Azerbaijan Cup victories.
