Qarabag FK took a big step towards the next round of the UEFA Champions League after a dominant 3-0 victory against Irish side Shelbourne in Dublin.
Playing at Tolka Park, the Azerbaijani champions struck early through Leandro Andrade in the 13th minute. Two late goals from Aleksei Kashuk (81’) and Nariman Akhundzada (85’) sealed a comfortable first-leg win.
The second leg is set for July 30 in Baku, where Qarabag will look to finish the job. The aggregate winner will move on to the third qualifying round to face either Shkëndija of North Macedonia or Romania’s FCSB.
