Galatasaray Beat Cagliari 3-1 in Austria Pre-Season Clash (VIDEO)

 


Galatasaray played their second pre-season friendly in Austria against Italian side Cagliari and secured a 3-1 victory at the Raiffeisen Arena.

The goals for Galatasaray came from Roland Sallai (20’), Barış Alper Yılmaz (30’) and Arda Ünyay (58’), while Cagliari’s lone goal was scored by Michel Adopo in the 40th minute. Following their win against Admira Wacker, Galatasaray continued their preparations with another positive result.

Galatasaray dominated the opening stages, creating chances through Berkan Kutlu and Davinson Sánchez, but Cagliari goalkeeper Elia Caprile kept them at bay. Cagliari struck first in the 16th minute when Zortea’s cross from the left found Adopo, whose header found the net: 0-1.

The response from Galatasaray was swift. In the 20th minute, Eren Elmalı delivered a perfect cross for Roland Sallai, who timed his run well and finished with precision to level the score: 1-1.

Ten minutes later, Derrick Köhn’s pressing won the ball high up the pitch, and he set up Barış Alper Yılmaz, who sent a powerful shot into the far corner to put Galatasaray ahead: 2-1.

Cagliari almost equalized in the 40th minute when Luvumbo cut inside from the right and hit the post. The first half ended with Galatasaray leading 2-1.

In the 58th minute, Sallai’s corner found Arda Ünyay, who rose highest to head the ball into the net, sealing a 3-1 win for the Turkish champions.
