Azerbaijani football club Qarabağ are set to introduce a new forward in the coming days. The player in question is former Qarabağ striker Juninho. Reports suggest that the champions are close to reaching an agreement with Brazilian side Flamengo, who currently hold the 28-year-old’s contract. Juninho is expected to join on a one-year loan deal.
It should be recalled that the Brazilian was sold by Qarabağ to Flamengo this past winter.
As a result, the potential transfer of Sheriff Ndiaye, which was reported yesterday, has been postponed at least until the winter. Notably, Qarabağ had also been pushing for the Senegalese striker on a loan basis. Ndiaye’s current contract with Red Star Belgrade runs until the end of the 2025/26 season.
