Paris Saint-Germain have announced the signing of Ukrainian defender Illia Zabarnyi from AFC Bournemouth. The 22-year-old centre-back has agreed a long-term deal and will wear the number six shirt.
Zabarnyi becomes the first Ukrainian player in PSG’s history. A product of Dynamo Kyiv’s academy, he broke into the first team in 2020 before moving to the Premier League in 2023, where he impressed with Bournemouth and was voted Player of the Season by fans last year.
On the international stage, Zabarnyi has already earned 49 caps for Ukraine and featured at both EURO 2020 and EURO 2024.
PSG hailed the defender’s arrival as a significant addition, highlighting his defensive strength, composure, and international pedigree.
