Manchester United have decided to part ways with head coach Ruben Amorim following their Premier League clash against Leeds United in Matchweek 20.

The Red Devils have shown an inconsistent performance throughout the season and currently sit sixth in the Premier League table with 31 points. In an official statement, the club confirmed that Darren Fletcher, who is currently in charge of the U18 team, will take charge of the first team for Wednesday’s league match against Burnley.

According to a report by The Athletic, the decision came after a breakdown in the relationship between Amorim and key club figures, including CEO Omar Berrada and football director Jason Wilcox.

Ruben Amorim took over at Manchester United in November 2024, following the departure of Erik ten Hag. During his time at Old Trafford, the Portuguese coach managed the team in 63 matches, recording 25 wins, 13 draws, and 23 defeats across all competitions.
