Liverpool Sign Alexander Isak in Record-Breaking Deal
Liverpool have completed the signing of Swedish striker Alexander Isak for a British record transfer fee of £125 million, with the 25-year-old penning a six-year contract.
The transfer saga, which had turned into a crisis after Newcastle United initially refused to sell, has been one of the most talked-about topics in English football in recent weeks. In the end, Liverpool got their man.
With the £125 million deal, Liverpool have set a new record in English football history, surpassing the previous £106 million fee Chelsea paid to Benfica for Enzo Fernández.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Isak said:
"It has been a long journey to get here. But I am very happy to be part of this club and everything it represents. I want to win everything."
Isak will wear the No. 9 shirt at Liverpool.
