First time in Azerbaijan football team will play in Champions League Group stage.
Qarabagh started 2nd qualification round. First match against Georgian champion "Samtredia". They won their opponent 6-0 aggregate. 3rd Qualification match was held against Sherif from Moldovan champion. Qarabagh defeated opponet 2-1 aggregate.
And play-off match Qarabagh-Kobenhavn. First match was played in Baku. Azerbaijan champion defeated Kobenhavn 1-0 with Mahir Madatov's goal. Second match was played in Kobenhavn Parken Stadium. Kobenhavn won the match 2-1. But Qarabagh passed the group stage because of away goal.
